How a Franklin ghost tour works
- 1
Pick your night
Ghost tours run after dark and the good ones sell out on weekends. Check the widget above for what is actually running while you are in Franklin.
- 2
Book with free cancellation
Most of these can be cancelled up to 24 hours before, so booking early costs nothing and holding out costs you the good guide.
- 3
Turn up where they say
This one meets at Meet in front of the old Williamson County courthouse, next to Mellow Mushroom restaurant. Please arrive at the meeting point 20 minutes before the activity starts.
- 4
Wear the right shoes
You will be walking on old, uneven, badly lit ground for an hour or more. It is the advice every operator gives and most visitors ignore.

Five hours in 1864
Five hours, and the town never recovered
One of the bloodiest afternoons of the Civil War happened in these streets.
30 November 1864
The Battle of Franklin was fought largely in five hours of late-afternoon and evening assault, with casualties concentrated in a way few engagements matched. Houses in the town were used as field hospitals and still carry the marks. That is the material, and it is documented rather than folkloric.
A very small bookable field
Almost nothing is sold through the major platforms here, which is out of proportion to the history. Read the single listing carefully rather than assuming a deeper market behind it.
It is a war grave, effectively
As at Gettysburg, the better guides treat the ground as what it is. That is the right frame and it is the one worth checking for in reviews. Franklin is also a town that has grown considerably since the battlefield was a battlefield, so parts of the ground are now suburb - a good guide is explicit about what you are standing on and a poor one lets you assume.
What a night here actually costs
Franklin's one bookable tour starts at $27.44, against a national ghost-tour median of $30 measured across 208 products. That puts Franklin squarely in the typical band. The middle half of all ghost tours runs $25 to $39.25, this city sits inside it, and price is therefore not the variable worth optimising here. With a single bookable product there is no comparison to make, and the review depth on the card is the only signal worth reading. Treat a thin sample as unproven rather than poor. Brilliant tour. The best one I’ve been on yet, it was really nice. Slow paced, and so much to talk about. Would definitely do it again if we came back. 100% recommend, the tour guide was really bubbly and just generally nice to be around as well.
The tour was cool, entertaining, informative and educational! Our tour guide Katlyn was so friendly, passionate and informed on the local history and lore!
We really enjoyed it, we learned so much. Kaitlyn was a great guide.
Joe was an enthusiastic guide with great energy and good storytelling techniques. The tour group was large but he had no trouble keeping us all together and making sure everyone could see and hear what he he was talking about. He took us inside the Spice Shop to begin the tour and that was fun start to the tour. Would take this tour again!
Joe was excellent! Very welcoming, knowledgeable and entertaining. Highlight of our trip to Franklin! Would recommend to all my friends.
Joe was an excellent tour guide! Great history and spooks!
Joe was an excellent guide. He knew the history, stories and he had pictures to go with the stories. You could tell he really loved what he was doing. Even in the rain the tour was well worth it.
Joe was absolutely amazing! We take ghost tours frequently and this was easily one of the best we have taken. I would highly recommend this tour for any level of ghost tour participant, whether it's your first or your 100th, you won't be disappointed!
